Courtney Amerin

OB/GYN DO

Courtney is an OBGYN born and raised in Colorado. After obtaining her undergraduate degree in Biology at Colorado State University she then continued to Rocky Vista University to train in Osteopathic medicine.  After medical school, she spent 4 years in California at the University of California – San Francisco, Fresno where she specialized in obstetrics and gynecology.

Osteopathic medicine is a branch of medicine that contains all the traditional aspects of medical training, with additional education focused on adjusting the musculoskeletal and nervous systems to achieve optimal healing. Doctors of osteopathy learn to combine the latest advances in medicine with osteopathic manipulative treatment for whole-body health.

During residency training, it became obvious to Courtney that, though the current medical system did a good job supporting patients in the pregnancy period, the postpartum period was a vastly different story. For most parents, there is usually just ONE visit with their provider six weeks after delivery!

These new parents often feel terrified leaving the hospital, knowing very little about what was happening to them physically, emotionally, or spiritually. We need a change, a revolution. Courtney hopes to provide a resource for new parents to help them navigate this magical time in their lives feeling educated and confident about their new roles and their new child.
